Battle: Los Angeles Trailer HD 1080p

Alien Invasion! Battle: Los Angeles, a upcoming invasion flick based on actual event that took place over Los Angeles in 1942. This job was extremely technical for camera tracking. The movie is shot as the audience follows a platoon of marines making there way through LA. I tracked and laid out about 50 shot for vfx, however, these were not easy shots at all. Most were shoulder held while running plus multiple zooms in a single shot. So I had to deal with rapid motion and variable lens in individual shots. Not to mention compensating for lens distortion. Battle will be out early 2011.

Gullivers Travels - 2010 trailer 2 [HD]

This will go down as the biggest and longest project I have worked on thus far. Over 15 months of work went into this film ranging from Camera tracking to modeling to texturing. For modeling, I was tasked to do props and environments since those are my strong areas. But I was primary a camera tracker doing shot layouts for effect and animation. I tracked over 100 shots, set them up in Maya as well doing models during down time.

Crime 360 - Behind the Scenes with 3D Imaging

Crime 360 was a show that re-enacted crime scenes while following the detection process. While the audience follows the detectives around, CG sequences are cut in to represent possible scenarios on which the crime was committed. I took the 3D scans and built up the crime scenes with geometry and textures. The CG is mild due to the quick turn around.

Special Ops

This a TV series I did work on a couple of years back. Using Motion capture, we were able to apply real world motion to CG characters in different fighting situations. My duties were to clean up the mocap, add vfx and render the scene for comp. I was also responsible for previsualization.

Skyline - Official Trailer #2

Skyline is a in-house production of Hydrualx, a visual effects company in Santa Monica, Ca. I tracked and laid out over 120 vfx shots in Maya for animation and effects. Most shots consisted of freemove camera moves and some with variable zooms. In this trailer, most of the crazy looking shots were laid out by me.

My contribution to the Video Game Industry.

These titles were actual development gigs. Sony outsourced certain models to the scanning division in San Diego. Some props included: MLB gloves, NBA basketballs, miniatures, weaponry, and face scans.

These two below were game testing titles. Find the bugs they told me. That's what I did. I was paid to crash the games. It was a pretty relaxed gig.

Feature Film work of 2008 - Camera Tracking / Dynamics

On X-Files I worked on camera tracking and Dynamics. For those shots I created digital snow using a Dynamics tool. Also, I created a library of snow elements for compositors to select from..

For The Spirt, I did a lot of camera tracking and snow elements again. I know the cameras were used, the snow element were in development stages when I was shifted primarily to cameras.

Feature Film work of 2009 - Camera Tracking / Modeling

My work on Avatar

The three below were shots I assisted on. We were doing Stereoscopic camera tracking on these shots. Some of which required stereo object tracking as well(CG rebreather masks).

These shots below I tracked in stereo as well as tracking each actors CG rebreather mask, also in stereo.

Intro to Killzone:Liberation for the PSP

This was my first real project that was going to be published worldwide. I was working at Sony Computer Entertainment America in the scanning department. The physical models were outsourced and we would scan them. I was part of the team that cleaned the data and made it render farm friendly.

Hewlett Packard Avatar-style commercial

Along with working on Avatar, I got a chance to work a this HP commercial. Camera tracking plus object tracking.

Feature Film work of 2010 - Camera Tracking / Modeling
